Commissioned Devon Tourism Photography Work, Spring 2015. I have been enjoying the spring sunshine with some Devon tourism photography over the last couple of weeks. This work obviously has to be combined with good weather so we had a few shoot options in order to coincide the locations, the models, the ATP manager and me … Continue reading Devon Tourism Photography

The Seaside Time Forgot. Documentary Photography of British Coastal Towns

Photography can be highly subjective depending upon which way you point the camera. We normally photograph locations to show the unspoilt, idyllic, clean and tidy, happy, smiley scene.

However, in this personal project, I am showing the opposite and equally subjective viewpoint of our British Seaside. One which is sometimes sad, sometimes humerous and often ironic and poignant. But always very “British”. Many of our coastal towns are now a shadow of their former selves. The decline of the seaside town has ebbed and flowed ever since the advent of the Mediterranean package holiday several decades ago and although many resorts have fought back and reinvented themselves, some have gone even further backwards.

I regularly carry out commercial photography in Exeter, Plymouth and other parts of Devon and Cornwall for businesses and other organisations. I believe that the objective with this type of photography is to fully understand and “get inside” the client’s brand and then convert the brand messages into images. As a commercial photographer Plymouth and Exeter … Continue reading Brand Photography for Businesses in Devon
